Advertising disclosure: This independent comparison website helps consumers choose the best available product that meets their needs. We offer a high quality advertising service by only featuring established brands from registered operators in our reviews. Please note that while we try to provide you with up-to-date information, we do not compare all operators on the market.

Affiliate disclosure: The main focus of OnlineCasinoApps.ca is to provide you with objective online casino reviews and guides. To sponsor our model, we include affiliate links in our content. If you register through such a link, we will receive a small commission at the cost of the casino; this does not affect the terms of your own deal. We do not compromise on the quality of our service and list only registered operators that have been checked and tested based on our methodology.

How We Check Casino Apps

Every figure in the App Index comes from a source you can open yourself. This page lists them.

01 / Scope

What the index covers

14 store listings from casino operators and 5 provincial platforms. A row is an app listing, not a brand, because several operators publish one app per province.

02 / Who may appear

Registers before rankings

  • Ontario: operators on the iGaming Ontario operator list.
  • Alberta: companies on the AGLC gaming registrants list in the class “iGaming - Operator”, matched to the app’s developer.

An operator we cannot confirm for a province does not appear there. That is why the lists differ by province, and why some brands are missing in some places.

03 / Store data

What we take from the stores

Store fields and their sources
FieldSource
Rating, number of ratings, size, version, update date, minimum iOSCanadian App Store listing
Privacy labelApp Privacy section of the App Store listing
Rating, downloads, update dateCanadian Google Play listing
Data collected and sharedData safety section of the Google Play listing
Payment methods, withdrawal time, minimum depositPublished by each operator for Canada

Store declarations are quoted as the developers made them; neither Apple nor Google verifies them in advance. Where the two stores disagree about the same app, we show both.

04 / Matching

How we match an app to an operator

Registers list companies, stores list developers, and the two names are often different. A brand may run its Ontario business through one company and publish its app through another inside the same group. We match an app to a register entry only when the link is clear from the operator’s own disclosures, the store listing or the register itself, and we record the matching company name. Where the link is only probable, the app is not shown in that province until we can confirm it.

The same rule decides which of several look-alike listings belongs where. An app with “Ontario” in its store name is shown for Ontario only; an app with “Ontario & Alberta” for both.

05 / Columns

What each column in the App Index means

App Index columns
iOS / AndroidWhether the listing exists in the Canadian App Store or Google Play at the last check.
Store ratingThe App Store average, or Google Play where there is no iPhone listing. App pages show the number of ratings behind it.
SizeThe App Store download size. Google Play does not publish a comparable figure.
UpdatedThe most recent update date on either store.
Tracking dataHow many data categories the App Store label lists as used to track you.
InteracWhether the operator lists Interac among its Canadian payment methods.
WithdrawalThe operator’s stated processing time after approval.

06 / Declarations

Why we quote the stores instead of judging the apps

Privacy labels and Data safety sections are the only standard, public statements every casino app makes about its data. They are written by the developers and not verified in advance by Apple or Google, so we present them as declarations: who said what, where, and when we read it. When the same app tells the two stores different things, we show both rather than choosing one. A reader can then put the question to the operator, which is the party that can answer it.

07 / Corrections

When the data is wrong

Stores change listings without notice: an app is renamed, moves to a new developer account or disappears from one store. Operators change payment methods and payout times. When our check finds a change, the row is updated; when an app is withdrawn from a store, the column says so rather than keeping the old figure. If you notice a figure that no longer matches the store or the operator, the date beside it tells you how old our reading is.

08 / Limits

What we do not do

  • We do not play the games or test payouts with our own money.
  • We do not rate games, software or customer service.
  • The order of apps within a province follows our default operator list; it is not a score.

Operators pay us a commission when you sign up through some links; see the disclosures at the top of each page. It does not decide which apps may appear, which the registers do.

09 / Updates

How often the data changes

Store data is refreshed regularly; the date of the last check appears on every page that uses it. Registers are re-checked when we update the lists.

Each refresh reads every listing again and replaces the whole data set at once, so the figures on a row always come from the same check. If a store does not answer, or a listing comes back without its developer, privacy label or Data safety section, nothing is replaced: the previous figures stay, and the date on the page shows how old they are.

10 / FAQ

How we check: questions

Do operators pay to be listed?

No. Registers decide who may appear in each province. Some links are affiliate links that pay us a commission, as the disclosures at the top of each page explain.

Why is a well-known brand missing in my province?

Because we could not confirm it for that province on the register or licence record we use, or because its app for that province is not in the stores.

Do you test the games?

No. We record facts anyone can check: registrations, store data, privacy declarations and published payment terms.

How old is the data?

Every page that uses store data shows the date it was last checked.
